Basically.-
the overburden handling techniques will be exactly the same as
described in the approved application #77-48. The only Change
.. will be the mining direction, instead of in a Southerly direction,
the new. mining direction will be mined from both East and West
toward the center portion where the #2 coal seam has been mined
out by previous underground operation, therefore no operation
will be carried out over the central portion. (Green Area -
the attached map I). A total of overburden/interburden material
to be removed are as shown on the same map. They are 198, 117 BCY
from West side, 177, 185 BCY from the East side and are hauled
directly to the backfill area which are approximatly 500 feet
away from the pit and have already been mined recently. This type
of stripping similar to the "Contour Stripping" method, however,
there will have no slope reduction involved, was owing to all of
the spoil material will be hauled and back-filled immediately for
:~.
~` ..
