III Ilillllllllll III <br />999 ~Quien tz yastando di r• <br />Para "a~udar" San Luis? ~`- ~ ^ ~~ ~9 <br />Who is spending money <br />to "help" San Luis? <br />What are the results? <br />The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service <br />spent hundreds of thousands of dollars <br />to entrap us into damaging our <br />environment. <br />- Battle Mountain Gold is spending <br />hundreds of thousands of dollars to <br />obtain permission for a cyanide <br />process mine on the banks of the Rito <br />Seco. <br />- At sunrise on March 6, 1989, 275 <br />heavily armed troops invaded San Luis <br />with automatic weapons and <br />helicopters to arrest our people. <br />Some sunrise in the future we could <br />wake up to find cyanide in our water <br />supply, just as we did in 1975. <br />What can we do? <br />Attend a meeting of the Mined Land Recamation Board; March 22, t989. <br />Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman, Room 215, Denver, CO <br />Make sure the voice of San Luis is heard in this matter. <br />At this meeting Battle Mountain Gold is requesting permission /rom the Colorado Mined Land <br />Reclamation Board to use cyanide in the Rito Seco Ffood Plain to take gold tram the ground. <br />They claim it wilt bring us "economic benelits" <br />Transportation money is available through <br />the Costilla County Committee for Environmental Soundness <br />For more information call (719) 672-3883 (Joe), 3924 (Donna), 3511 (Charlie) <br />
