Caltany
Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety received your correspondence regarding possible off site
impacts to your property in Craig, Colorado due to activities at the above referenced permitted site. The
Division noted that it would do an inspection as soon as possible, but clearly did not set March 1 s`, 2007 as
the date for the inspection. Weather and ground conditions prevented the Division from inspecting the site
to determine the scope of the impacts until mid-March. Please except my apologies for not getting back to
you and any miscommunication on the inspection date.
The operator has responded to staff concerning this issue. It appears to involve several parties including
another permitted site adjacent to the Deacon Pit. Staff will be setting up an inspection that will require
other staff members. The Division then can review the entire situation and come up with a plan to mitigate
your concerns as well as others. The Division would like to invite you to attend a meeting with staffat your
property. Please contact me at your earliest convenience so that we can meet to discuss your issues on site. I
will then set up a meeting with 3B Enterprises and others to discuss the situation. Staff feels that a solution
involving all parties will better serve everyone concerned.
If you need additional information, please contact me at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety,
Grand.Junction Field Office, 101 S. 3rd St., Suite 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 8 ] 501, telephone no.
970.241.1117.
Sincerely,
c/~' L%~-
G.
