Campbell
Reclamation Specialist
Mined Land Reclamation
1313 Sherman Street
Denver, CO 80203
Dear Mr. Campbell:
r,~ ': `:^ LP.^iL RECLAP,Ir.~;l;~;~
C_u~. Depi. of ~:atura! Neso.^c~a
Gunnison County is currently crushing gravel on a site up
Quartz Creek. Due to the circumstances, we £eel we need no
permit for this operation. The property owner is building a
stock pond in his meadow. My understanding is he worked with
the Soil Conservation to build this pond. Gunnison County is
hauling the excavated material to an ongoing decomposed granite
pit elsewhere on the same property and crushing road gravel.
During and after our operation, the gravel pit is still in use
by another operator. We are not affecting his operation or ex-
posing more land on this site. We are stock piling materail on
an already mined site and feel what little material we leave
after removal of the road material can be used to reclaim the
area when the other operator is done. This area has been in
use for many, many years.
Please let us know if you need more information and your
decision on this matter.
Sincerely,
Kenneth L. Arnold
Road and Bridge Supervisor
KLA/pv
encl.
