JERIS A, DANIELSON, DEPUTY STATE ENGINEER
SUBJECT: DORCHESTER COLOMINE - FRUITA COAL MINE, MESA COUNTY,
APPLICATION FOR MINING AND RECLAMATION PERMIT
As requested by your office, we have reviewed the application for an underground
coal mine near Fruita. Initially, the proposed operation will have very little
effect on the prevailing hydrologic balance or on adjudicated water rights and
we recommend approval of the application. However, in the future, it is Indi-
cated that ground water, if encountered in the mine, will be used. The appli-
cant should be aware of the requirement that a well permit to use ground water
must be obtained prior to using the water.
o~eWC u • ~6~Y~"
Hal D.
