The final location and timing of
installation was to be mutually agreed upon by the operator and the
Division. The proposed location of the well is presented on Map 6.
As you know, the proposed location of the well is virtually
inaccessible because of the problem with the sloughing rock bank
above the access road on wECC's property. Because of the access
problem, Bear proposes to install the monitoring well on the
eastern edge of the No. 3 Mine disturbed area. The well could be
installed on the switchback on the road leading to the portal or
installed near the river.
Enclosed is a print of Map 6 which presents the alternative
location of the proposed B-Seam monitoring well. WECC's B-Seam
monitoring well SOM-127-H is also shown on Map 6. Is it possible
the quality information obtained from both Bear's and WECC's B-Seam
wells would satisfy the Division's concerns?
Please let Bear know if the alternative monitoring well location is
acceptable. Depending on the timing of the Division's decision,
the deadline for the installation of the B-Seam monitoring well
will probably have to be extended.
Please call if you have any questions.
Sinperel~y,Y ,
Jim Stover, P.E.
Consulting Engineer
cc: Dan Bear
