I'm sorry I do not have the actual permit number to refer to but if it is <br />needed I can fiunish it upon request. I am a bordering land owner to the north, and have lived <br />here since 1992. <br />Mr. Neil Sprague visited with me recently to infornt me that a state inspector was going <br />to visiting his quarry. I have become concerned about what appears to be an increase of activity <br />accompanied with an expansion of area being quarried, and the practice of dumping a sizeable <br />amount of rubble over a considerable distance into the ravine along the west side of Steamboat <br />Valley Road. It is my understanding that this quarry has been sited for this in the past. Recently, <br />about 20 to 301azge truckloads of rubble have been hastily hauled away in what appears to be an <br />attempt to mitigate the damage before your inspection. <br />Mr. Sprague has informed me that the azea to the north is being reclaimed, but I see no <br />real evidence of this. He also told me that he plans to go back into this area at a later date to <br />quarry more'stone" -- ---- - - - - - - - <br />I know that in the past Mr. Sprague attempted to, and later withdrew a request to expand <br />the size of his quarry. I now believe that the dramatic change in operation has impacted my <br />property value and quality of life. <br />I would like to be informed of your findings. I will be happy to pay for whatever copying <br />and mailing chazges are required to obtain your report.
