The general circumstances are as follows:
The Grassy Gap Coal mine is a fully reclaimed site in Routt County, Colorado. During
the final bond release/forfeiture field inspection, the landowner objected to the wide-
spread occurrence along the roadway of the weed Houndstongue. Based on this objec-
tion and the desire to remediate the situation, the Division and Rockcastle Coal
Company modified our formal settlement agreement to assign up to $10,000 of the
$35,000 forfeited bond for weed control purposes over the next two field seasons (1993
and 1994).
I have acquired 4 bids as per the following parameters:
5.5 miles of road spraying, each side, 25' minimum;
On site within 5 days' notice;
Spraying practices consistent with appropriate animal husbandry;
Appropriate chemicals for the current condition of the weed Houndstongue.
Turnkey bid (aiI costs to do the job included)
The following parties submitted bids:
Company: Routt County Landscaping 879-2403
Person: Jim or Chuck
Bid: $3,829.00
Company: Mountain West Environments 879-2313
Person: Eva Littlefield
Bid: $3,000.00
