Upon completion of the raise boring, a 8 foot diameter
steel lining will be placed in the open hole with cranes
and a lowering device. The casing will be slotted to
prevent water accumulation and have a wall thickness of
.25 inches. When the casing is in place, the annulus
will be grouted at the bottom collar and filled with pea
gravel to within 10 feet of the surface. A permanent
concrete collar aro~ind the steel lining will complete the
shaft construction.
The air sweeps (as required) at the shaft bottom will be
developed by continuous miner during the shaft bottcm
development and the excavation for the raise head
assembly.
77.1900 (A)(4) Elevations and Dimensions
Diameter (excavation) - 9 feet 3 inches
Diameter (lined) - 8 feet
Collar Elevation - 7354 feet msl
Depth to Coalbed - 605 feet
77.1900 (A)(5) Location and Elevation of Coalbed
Coalbed - Maxwell
Elevation (top of seam) - 674$ feet msl
Thickness - 6 feet
77.1900 (A)(6) General Characteristics of Strata
Strata - The shaft will be developed through strata
composed of interbedded sandstones, mudstones, shales,
and coal beds (see attached lithology log).
77.1900 (A)(7) Tyne of Equipment to be L'sed
The drilling, reaming, casing and collar constructior.
will be performed by Dynatec Mining Contractors Inc.
The drilling rig to be used is a Ingersoll-Rand RnM-7SP.
The steel liner will be set in place by contract cranes.
The grousing and backfilling will be performed from the
surface.'
'}
'.
