Walther
Executive Director
Michael B. Long
Division Director
As you had requested in our telephone conversation yesterday, enclosed is a copy of a portion of
amine map showing the proposed construction of the Bowie No. 2 train loadout neaz your
residence. I have added certain details to the map.
In green is the current railroad track. The proposed new railroad track is shown in red. The
culverts that aze under the current railroad track will be extended underneath the new railroad
track. They aze annotated as " 24 inch CMP extension" on the map. The "CMP" stands for
"corrugated metal pipe." In order to make room for the new track, fill material will be brought in
to act as a base. This fill material will require sediment control. The sediment control will consist
of dirt beans and straw bales or silt fence, as well as seeding of the fill outslopes. The dirt berms
will channel the runoff water to the straw bales or silt fence. The berms aze shown in pink. The
straw bales or silt fence locations are shown in red and aze annotated as "sediment traps." What I
believe to be your irrigation ditch is shown in.blue.
As we had talked about, I will call you a few days before I go into the field in March and we can
set up a time for the both of us to meet and discuss the situation. If you have any questions,
please call me at 303-866-4932.
Sincerely, (~~
J sep J.IZ}Bi as~
nvironmental Protection Specialist
Enclosure
cc: Sandy Brown (DMG) without enclosure
c:/ms97ibowie2/pr6citl et 1
