RE: Request For Blasting Documentation, Bowie No. 2 Mine, Permit No. C-96-083,
Bowie Resources Limited
Dear Mr. Bear:
The Division is requesting that Bowie Resources provide certain information to the
Division concerning the blasting program at the Bowie No. 2 Mine. This information is
being requested in order to supplement the Division's investigation of a citizen's
complaint. That complaint was expressed to Bowie Resources by a telephone
conversation with David Berry of this Division. The Division requests copies of the
following material:
As required by Rule 4.08.1(3), the blaster certification for each person responsible
for the blasting operations at the Bowie No. 2 Mine,
2. As required by Rule 4.08.5, the complete record of each blast performed at Bowie
No. 2 Mine,
3. All pre-blast survey request letters, as required in Rule 4.08.2(1), [hat were sent to
"all residents or owners of dwellings or other structures located within one-half
mile of the permit area", along with verification that these notices were sent at
least 30 days before the start of any blasting,
4. As required in Rule 4.08.3(1)(a), the blasting schedule public notice, and
verification that the public notice was published in a local newspaper "at least 10
days, but no more than 20 days" before blasting commenced.
