The Division contacted the Mesa Land Trust and talked to Diana Cort. She was somewhat perplexed by
your request for a release on their behalf. After further discussions, it appears that they only needed
assurance that the land would not be affected by the adjacent activities. Staff explained that the site was
in full compliance with its permit, Also, the operator appears to be genuinely concerned about
preventing off site impacts. A copy of the Division's inspection and this letter are being forwarded to
Ms. Cort and staff believes that will meet their needs. If not, they can contact the Division for further
documentation.
Staff hopes that this letter addresses your concerns and that action by the operator will alleviate any
issues along the property boundary. Please find enclosed a copy of the inspection report generated from
the inspection right after staff left your property. If you need additional help or feel that staff s actions
fall short of what you need, please contact me for further assistance.
If you need additional information, please contact me at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and
Safety, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 South Third Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado
81501, telephone no. 970-241-1117.
Sincerely,
~~~~~~~
C.
