consists of coal recovery by longwall operations in the "B" and "E" seams, on <br />• approximately 3,430 acres of Federal lease C-1363 within the area covered by Colorado <br />State permit C-80-007, in; <br />Township 13 South. Range 90 West 6`h P.M. <br />Al] or parts of Sections 32, 33, 34, and 35; <br />Township 14 South; Range 90 West 6`" P.M. <br />All or parts of Sections 3, 4, 9, and 10. <br />The life of the mining operations is expected to continue for an additional nine (9) <br />years under Colorado Permit C-80-007 and this proposed minim plan modification. <br />The average annual production rate and the maximum production rate would not change. <br />The approved State permit area would increase by 5,250 acres from its present 10,388 <br />acres to a new total of 15,638 acres. <br />Surface disturbance within the approved State permit area would not increase from its <br />present 385 acres. <br />• This mining plan modification would add 3,430 acres for coal recovery and mining of <br />Federal coal to the approved mining plan area shown on the map included with this <br />decision document. <br />Approval of this mining plan modification would authorize mining of an additional 66 <br />million tons of recoverable Federal coal. <br />Approximately 3,430 acres of Federal surface lands would be included in the mining plan <br />area as a result of this action. <br />The post mining land use within the permit and mining plan area would not change. <br />The CO-DMG has placed three (3) Special Conditions to this permitfing action. An <br />explanation of each stipulation and the requirements for their resolution can be found in <br />the State Decision Document made a part of this Mining Plan Modification Decision <br />Document. <br />Mountain Coa] Company, L.L.C.'s proposal does not require any additional special <br />conditions to comply with Federal laws. <br />• <br />
