consists of coal recovery by longwall operations in the "B" and "E" seams, on
• approximately 3,430 acres of Federal lease C-1363 within the area covered by Colorado
State permit C-80-007, in;
Township 13 South. Range 90 West 6`h P.M.
Al] or parts of Sections 32, 33, 34, and 35;
Township 14 South; Range 90 West 6`" P.M.
All or parts of Sections 3, 4, 9, and 10.
The life of the mining operations is expected to continue for an additional nine (9)
years under Colorado Permit C-80-007 and this proposed minim plan modification.
The average annual production rate and the maximum production rate would not change.
The approved State permit area would increase by 5,250 acres from its present 10,388
acres to a new total of 15,638 acres.
Surface disturbance within the approved State permit area would not increase from its
present 385 acres.
• This mining plan modification would add 3,430 acres for coal recovery and mining of
Federal coal to the approved mining plan area shown on the map included with this
decision document.
Approval of this mining plan modification would authorize mining of an additional 66
million tons of recoverable Federal coal.
Approximately 3,430 acres of Federal surface lands would be included in the mining plan
area as a result of this action.
The post mining land use within the permit and mining plan area would not change.
The CO-DMG has placed three (3) Special Conditions to this permitfing action. An
explanation of each stipulation and the requirements for their resolution can be found in
the State Decision Document made a part of this Mining Plan Modification Decision
Document.
Mountain Coa] Company, L.L.C.'s proposal does not require any additional special
conditions to comply with Federal laws.
•
