r
Inc
Ms. Lori Potter
November 18, 1999
Page 2
A working platform width of 50 feet may be rather tight in deeper sections of the slurry trench if
backfill is to be mixed along the side of the trench. Fora 60-foot deep trench, a total platform
width of SS feet would provide a more practical width.
As the slurry wall will act to block current groundwater flows, the groundwater elevation may
increase outside of the eastern end of the wall. To help reduce groundwater flows around the end
of the wall and into the backfill area, we recommend that the wall be extended eastward until
bedrock contact at the bottom of the wall is at the elevation of the groundwater surface recorded at
M-30 plus the anticipated increase in groundwater elevation.
Please call if you have any questions or comments.
Sincerely,
ROCKY MOUNTAIN CONSULTANTS, INC.
~~ ~~h~
Bruce Marshall, P.G.
Sr. Project Hydrogeochemist
BM:sp
F 43756 OOASWrryWall 2.wptl
