Although this was prior to spring runoff, and <br />diversions from Alamosa River, the stream was discolored, relating to the poor netting success <br />on the first pass of the population estimate. Therefore, population and biomass estimates were <br />not reported. Station # 1 has a fishery dominated by white suckers and lo:zgnose dace. One brown <br />trout was shocked but not netted. Note the presence of the native Rio Gra.~ede chub. This section <br />is heavily grazed, and is characterized by eroding banks, and heave silt~ieposits, resulting in <br />marginal wnditions for a trout fishery. <br />~ ~ <br />
