Staff <br />recommends approval, with the exception that a stipulation be made to <br />the permit that: <br />"Occidental Oil Shale will allow representatives of the Colorado <br />/ Division of Wildlife and the United States Fish and Wildlife <br />Service access to the property in order that they may make the <br />7 necessary investigations Co determine what affect the operation <br />3 of Logan Wash will have on wildlife in the area, including <br />possible nesting sites of Peregrine Falcons an/or Golden Eagles. <br />~ The results of these investigations will be presented to the <br />MLRB, Furthermore, Occidental Oil Shale will incorporate any <br />changes in the mining plan or other mitigatory measures deemed <br />necessary by the MLRB into the permit through a technical re- <br />vision or amendment." <br />Bonding recommend at $264,000. Application conforms to AG memo of 5/25/77. <br />/ MOVE to grant a permit to Occidental Oil Shale (Logan Wash) /177-424 <br />for a 40-acre underground oil shale operation in Garfield County, <br />with bonding at $264,000.
