From this mixture it is anticipated that a species diveristy
of 4 cool season grasses and 1 forb species can be acheived on
reclaimed land at the mine. The combined relative cover of these
species will not exceed 75~ on the reclaimed surface, nor will
any one of these species comprise greater than 40$ relative cover.
In addition to reestablishment of a diverse herbaceous
component, two woody plant species are to be reestablished on the
reclaimed areas. No single woody plant species will have a
relative importance (derived from density data) of greater than
80$.
The woody plant diversity goal is directly related to stipul-
ation #1 which states, "within one year of permit issuance, H-G
Coal Company must propose to the division an acceptable standard,
based on the results of their site-specific study and other
available data, for the determination of reclamation success of
woody plant density on the Hayden Gulch site." Therefore based
on results from this woody plant density study, the woody plant
diversity goal will be subject to review within one year.
The diversity goal of 4 cool season grasses and 1 forb species
will be reviewed every two years by the Division and H-G Coal
Company. If it appears that these diversity goals are not
achievable, then they will be subject to revision.
