Mr. F. R. Banta - 2 - February 10, 1989
Accordingly, the level of activity at the Colony site will be reduced,
although the site will remain in an active status. We will continue to
maintain the site to ensure that it remains stable and ready for commercial
development. We plan to continue an extensive program of environmental and
other types of monitoring at the site, and some of the research and study
work is planned to take place at the site. Much of the remaining research
and study activity will likely be done in our Houston headquarters where it
can be conducted efficiently in conjunction with other related work.
As we have done in the past, we will continue to keep the Division informed
of our project activities by means of our annual report and other communi-
cations as circumstances dictate. As we have discussed, you and members of
your staff are encouraged to visit the site at a convenient time this
spring in order to continue the Division's first-hand familiarity with what
we have accomplished.
We request your confirmation that this communication is sufficient as the
1989 update, and that our plans are acceptable for continued development
under our permit.
Sincerely,
WNE:jg
be - Mr. C.
