Twen[ymile enlisted the services of Northwest Colorado Consultants to evaluate
the condition of the various roads a[ [he site and provide maintenance recommendations for same. A copy
of the report is attached. The access roads to the PM Bay and the 8050 dragline have been upgraded per
the recontmenda[ions. The haul into [he refuse pile has been upgraded, along with adding additional gravel
to a segment of Haul Road B west of the prep plant.
As you know, Twentymile has made significant improvements to [he roads and will continue to do in the
next 30 l0 60 days. One of [he problems [ha[ has caused delays in completing the roads is [he spring
weather conditions that were encountered in northwest Colorado. One supplier of our roads surfacing
materials has a pit located at higher elevations and it took a little time before he could access the pit. Once
this was accomplished and the pit readied for production of materials snow and rain caused delays in
producing and delivering all of the materials. At this time the weather appears ro be cooperating and TCC
should be able to complete surfacing the remaining roads. These include [he road [o the batch weigh
system, from the 8050 to Pond A puntphouse, road to the Fish Creek borehole, and road around PM bay.
The road to the southwest borehole was surfaced with gravel and TCC is now in the process of reclaiming
the facility. The usage of the Fish Creek borehole road has decreased substantially since the original
design work was completed and I would like to discuss the requirements for [his road with you. Perhaps
the next time you are up this way we can go take a look at [he road and I can explain TCC's thoughts on
the road.
If there are questions. please contact me at your convenience.
Sincere~ly~,1 _ ~ ~/
Richard Mills
Environmental Manager
attachment
Illc: is\document\
