Thanks for getting in touch with me today regarding the reclaimed mine site on the
Castleton Ranch property. As we discussed, I am sending you copies of various items of
correspondence related to fence repairs and on-going fence maintenance for the next 3
years at the site. I am also sending copies of three site inspection reports based on the
inspections I made in May, August, and October last year. This information should
pretty much bring you up-to-date on the issues Tom Sanders had been working on with
me.
As we discussed, I will need to receive a letter from you that will detail the fence repair
work and cost associated with the work completed by Castleton during 2006/2007, in
order for us to reimburse Castleton for the work. You suggested that it would make sense
to wait until any necessary repairs have been completed later this spring, prior to turn-out
of cattle in the pastures adjacent to the small reclaimed site, before submitting the letter,
and I agree. Please include also, a commitment from Castleton to perform annual fence
maintenance during 2007, 2008, and 2009, along with herbicide application as warranted
to control the patch of Canada thistle in the northeast corner of the mine site. Please refer
to the letter of 10/16/06 from me to Tom Sanders; the "ball park" amount we had
discussed was $400.00 for the 06/07 repair work, plus an additional $100.00 per year for
annual maintenance during 2007, 2008, and 2009.
Along with the correspondence and inspection reports, I have also enclosed a copy of the
State of Colorado "Substitute Form" W-9. Please fill out this form (or the standard W-9
Form from the IRS), and include it along with the work description cost quote letter. As
soon as you have completed the fence repairs this spring, please contact me (by phone or
email) and send the letter with work description, cost, and W-9. I will arrange to meet
