•. <br />Measurement and Payment <br />There will be no measurement for payment. Payment for this task will be reflected in a lump sum bid under Item 3 on <br />the Bid Schedule. This lump sum bid will cover all costs for cutting of the CMP riser, offsite disposal of the excess <br />CMP material, excavation of the embankment, form construction, purchase and installation of the bentonite, <br />purchase and installation of the concrete, backfilling and compaction over the concrete, construction and installation <br />of the hinged steel grate. Payment shall be as this task is completed and approved by the PROJECT MANAGER. <br />Such payment shall be considered full compensation for all labor, materials, equipment and all other items necessary <br />and incidental to the completion of Task 3, Sediment Pond Dewatering Device Repair. <br />Task 4 Sealing Sediment Pond <br />In order to minimize the infiltration of water from the sediment pond, bentonite will be placed within the pond. <br />Bentonite shall be placed on the base of the pond and up the side slopes to the elevation of the lowest inlet of the <br />CMP riser. The area of the pond to be affected by this Task is estimated to be fifteen feet (15') in width, three <br />hundred feet (300') in length and about three feet (3') in depth. <br />CONTRACTOR shall ensure that the pond is free of water prior to initiating this Task. Upon completion of <br />dewatering, if necessary, CONTRACTOR shall stake the elevation of the side slopes of the pond at the elevation of <br />the lower most inlet to the CMP riser. In order to ensure that the proper elevation is established, the use of a tripod <br />mounted surveyors level is required. <br />The surface area of the pond to be affected by this Task shall be scarified to a depth of four inches (4") through the <br />use of a disc harrow. Two inches (2") of dry bentonite shall be placed on the prepared work area after the discing is <br />completed. This material will be worked into the base and side slopes of the pond by discing the affected area until <br />the bentonite is well incorporated into the scarified surface. <br />Measurement and Payment <br />There will be no measurement for payment. Payment for this task will be reflected in a lump sum bid under Item 4 on <br />the Bid Schedule. This lump sum bid will cover all costs for identifying the area to be affected by this Task, <br />preparation of the area, and purchase and installation of the bentonite materials. Payment shall be as this task is <br />completed and approved by the PROJECT MANAGER. Such payment shall be considered full compensation for all <br />labor, materials, equipment and all other items necessary and incidental to the completion of Task 4,Sealing <br />Sediment. <br />Task 5 Equipment Rental ' <br />Areas in and adjacent to the Project Area may require slope reduction, excavation or erosion control work. CAT 416B <br />Backhoe loader or equivalent 74 fhp machine with operator and a five (5) cubic yard onloff highway end dump truck <br />with operator shall be furnished for additional work as needed. Additional rip rap materials may be needed to armor <br />areas outside the rolled dip, and low water crossings. It is estimated that up to twenty cubic yards (20 yd ~) <br />additional rip rap material may be required. Of this, ten cubic yards (10 yd 3) must consist oftwo-inch (2") screened <br />rock, and ten cubic yards (10 yd 3) must consist of clean four inch (4") rock. The use of the rip rap material is NOT <br />guaranteed. <br />The hours outlined in Item 5 of the Bid Schedule are NOT guaranteed. All work will be accomplished according to <br />Specification 19.0, Equipment Rental, attached. <br />Measurement and Payment <br />Measurement and payment will be made as per Specification 19.0, Equipment Rental, which is attached. Payment <br />will be made at the unit prices established in Item 5 of the Bid Schedule. The hours outlined in Item 5 of the Bid <br />Schedule are NOT guaranteed. Rip Rap will be paid by the cubic yard installed at the unit price bid in Item 5 of the <br />Bid Schedule. The use of the additional rip rap material is NOT guaranteed. <br />
