The new haul route is as described in the Brannan Sand & Gravel Co.
traffic impact study, October, 1999, Please find attached the calculations showing
the change in vehicle-miles incurred as a result of this change. The net increase for
loaded northbound trucks will be approximately 0.25 miles per vehicle. The net
increase for loaded southbound trucks would be approximately 3.00 miles per
vehicle. Unloaded trucks returning to the gravel pit would also incur the same
amount of out-of-direction travel.
In addition to the extra miles traveled, there will be one additional stop required
for trucks traveling southbound. Both northbound and southbound trucks will need
to pull grade over the new E-470 to 136i° Avenue on Brighton Road. The additional
travel delay and fuel consumption will be specific to the type of gravel truck used
and the amount of grade traveled.
