~pr 03 07 12:38p <br />April 3, 2007 <br />1 (860] 413-9310 <br />P <br />G /~ <br />LvtS P ~~ <br />;'~ <br />Jim Lofink (1 <br />Mr. Ron Cattany, Director <br />Colorado Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br />/3 <br />Subject: Snowstorm Placer, Park County, I ]2 Mining Permit No. M-198-084 <br />Dcar Mr. Cattany, <br />[ am a property owner of two residential lots with adjacent to the Snowstorm Placer in <br />Park County., namely lots 556 and 557, VOTS, Filing l 1. <br />At some point, mining operations at this site have encroached upon our private property, <br />to wit excavating a portion of the hillside approximating 30-50 feet beyond the <br />boundaries of the mining property and onto Lot 556, VOTS Filing 11. <br />[understand adjoining properties may have similar encroachment. including but not <br />limited to Lots 551-562, VOTS, Filing ] 1. <br />At this time, Everist Materials, LLC, is requesting from the Colorado Division of <br />Reclamation Mining and Safety, a Technical Revision to the original permit for the <br />purpose of expanding uses to including production of concrete and asphalt. <br />I respectfully rcquest a full and complete inspection of the Snowstorm Placer operation <br />prior to final decision on the TR, and appropriate remedies to any conditions such as <br />these be identified and enacted. i understand that if this revision is issued, the existing; <br />mining and reclamation plans of the current owners may be revised and updated, and ask <br />that instances such as noted above be monitored and resolved throughout the process. <br />I am hopeful a response can be made to this request prior to April 10, 2007, which is the <br />day that the the Park County Environmental Health Planning and "toning will consider <br />the request for a Conditional Use Permit by Everist. <br />if there are any questions please contact me. <br />.lames C.
