Box 774018
Steamboat Springs, CO 80477
Re: Grassy Gap Mine Records(C-81-039)
Dear Mr. Nettleton:
I'd like thank you for retrieving the records for the Grassy Gap Mine from Terramatrix's warehouse on
October 2, 1997 when 1 stopped by your office to inspect them. Once I returned to the office, this matter
of inspecting records for revoked Mine sites came up for discussion at a staff meeting. It was determined
that the Division will hold a copy of the records for revoked sites. This copy would be readily available to
the public or other agencies at their request in accordance with Rule 5.02.4. As you had been under the
impression when we spoke on October 2, 1997, this eliminates the need to have a copy available in the
area of the Mine. I appreciate you holding the file at your office, but upon this understanding it may re-
archived. My apologies for the inconvenience of retrieving the files.
When 1 returned to the Steamboat area the week of October 14, 1997, 1 was unable to stop by your office
to inform you of this decision. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
Sincerely,
Janet H: Binns
Envfionmental Protection Specialist
