Dept. of Natuni desom~u~
Dear Bob:
We have informed you previously that Blue Ribbon mine is
temporarily working only one shift a day on a limited production
basis. Our current schedule is to work four ten-hour shifts,
Monday through Thursday each week. We consider our normal business
hours of mining operations to be 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday
through Thursday.
Pursuant to Rule 5.02.2(3), we would ask that Mined Land
Reclamation consider the above-listed business hours for the
purposes of inspections. We understand that Rule 5.02.3(2) gives
MLR's authorized representatives power to enter the property at
reasonable times outside our normal business hours. The security
guards will be prepared to communicate with one of the agents for
the mine if none of those persons are present at the mine site.
If an authorized representative of the Division decides to
go on site or in the mine when no Blue Ribbon employees or repre-
sentatives are present, Blue Ribbon requests that you exercise
caution to protect yourselves adequately. An example of special
caution would be to inform the guard specifically where you are
going and when you expect to be back to the guard station.
We write this letter simple to clarify Blue Ribbon's current
schedule and to ask that the Division respect our employee's business
hours when appropriate. An inspection which, hypothetically, would
start at 3:45 p.m. and end at approximately 5:30 p. m., does make an
exceptionally long day for an employee who may have left his home
for work before 5:00 a.m. We appreciate your consideration.
Very truly yours,
WST:KES
cc: J.
