highlighted on attachment A.
c. As of Mazch, 1993, longwall mining had progressed from west to east in
Panel 1 north of the river about two-thirds of the length of the panel.
Therefore, no longwall mining had yet occurred in the vicinity of the Third
North Intake fan.
d. By February 1994, the operator had mined at least some 1500-2000 feet
into the second panel, as evidenced by Basin Resources statement that "the
Zamora Canyon markers had been established at or near the time of
subsidence in Panel 2 (north of the river) ".
In conclusion, [can only make reasonable estimates, based on the above information. It appears
the mine conducted underground development mining in the vicinity of the Third North shaft in
the fourth quarter of 1988 and conducted longwall mining in Panel 1 (which would produce
subsidence) in the third or possibly fourth quarter of 1993.
I hope this information is what you are looking for. If you have questions or need additional
information, please call me.
Since ely, ~`~~
ent A. Gorham
Environmental Protection Specialist
CC: Dan Hernandez, DMG
