Most disturbance occurred within the mine permit area.
Powderhorn had originally requested that reclamation be deferred until 1988 on
certain access roads needed for future access for exploration drilling. By
letter dated October 25, 1985, we recommended that approval be given on a
year-by-year basis, and that reclamation moat be completed by the fall of 1986.
By letter dated October 9, 1986, Powderhorn has again requested that access road
reclamation be deferred until 1988. Because of the recent shutdown of the
Roadside Mine, it is less likely that the roads will be needed in the next two
years. Therefore, it is our recommendation that all reclamation be completed
this fall. If adverse weather and ground conditions preclude this, the work
must be completed next fall, but no later than October 1, 1987.
If you have any questions, please contact Bruce Fowler of this office
(303-243-6561).
Sincerely,
cs{~
Area Ma gar
Acting
cc:
Henry Barbs
Powderhown Coal Company
