faooember 'I. 2003 <br />Page 1-6 <br />1.6 Decisions to be Made <br />The GMUG Forest Supervisor is the responsible official for the Forest Service. The Forest Supervisor <br />must decide whether or not to consent to the BLM leasing NFS lands according to the Federal Coal <br />Leasing Amendments Act of 1975. The Forest Supervisor must also prescribe terms and/or conditions <br />(through lease stipulations) with respect to the use and protection of non-mineral interests. Once a Forest <br />Service Decision Notice (DN) is signed and released, and, if the lease is issued, the BLM would be <br />responsible for lease administration and enforcement of lease terms and conditions. <br />The BLM Colorado State Director is the deciding official for the BLM and will decide whether or not to <br />offer the West Flatiron LBA tract for competitive leasing under the MLA, as amended, and the federal <br />regulations under 43 CFR 3400. The Uncompahgre Field Office Manager is responsible for providing the <br />State Director with briefings and recommendations or leasing, as well as supplying conditions (i.e., <br />stipulations) for protection of non-coal resources on the BLM managed lands within the LBA tract. <br />Environmental /~ssossmeni <br />VVesl T=latiron LBA Tract <br />G~~nniscn Gouniy, Coloradi> <br />
