III III III IIIIIII III
999
July 12, 1996
RE: Bond Release Vegetation Sampling, Hayden Gulch Mine,
Permit No. C-80-003
Responses to DMG comments of June 19, 1996
Comment 1:
Response:
The proportional allocation method of sample site location has
been added to the first paragraph of Section 2 of the study
proposal.
Comment 2:
Response:
Topsoil stockpile C and the explosives storage area were
included in the sampling scheme in the first paragraph of Section
2 of the study proposal as requested.
Comment 3:
Response:
The commitment to the weighted average method discussed on
page l0 of the 1988 vegetation guideline was included in the second
paragraph of Section 2 of the Study proposal as requested.
Comment 4:
Response:
The sample adequacy formula referenced in Section 3 of the
proposal was revised to the 1995 Guideline. The commitment to
sample to adequacy was included but H-G would like to discuss the
specific situation if adequacy is not met after 50 samples are
collected. In some cases the data and results could be very
straight forward and additional samples may not yield any different
conclusions. In other cases where the data is marginal, additional
samples may be needed to provide a valid case.
