Supervisor ~j
DATE: June 2i, 2006
RE: CUP for Mining -Colorado Calumet -Revised Comments
Jean,
In resi~onse to the above stated app!•cat'on. I offar tha foliowing revised comments.
In addendum 1, pages 23b and 24 b. the USFS considers an approved Plan of
Operation as legal nght is enter the subvert property. I suggest the applicant provide the
Ceunni with an approved USFS Plan of Operat,on erher pr or lc. or as a condition of,
issuance of the CUP so we may to assured of legal right to enter.
On the mattar cf Adequate Infrastructure -Operator currently operates under two Teller
County CUP s that allow him to haul in and use his machinery on rivo existing and
overlappingradjacent mining areas. There curently are no restricf, ons on types of, er
number of trips rented to these two CUP's. The operator car. currently, if he so wishes.
haul ar.y type of aqu~pment every day ,.rich no restrictions cn the number of taps. I am of
the opinion, due to the fact of iha bvo current overlapping;adjacant CUP s, that this
CUP use will create no additional impacts to County Rcads. Please keep in mind that if
the currert circumstances change, these comments would need ro be revisited.
Reasons for these changes may include, but not be limited t~, mange of operafar or
chance ~n sr~a of area mined.
It you have any questions please foal free to ask.
