- On January 26, 1981, an inspection (pre-blasting) was performed by <br />VME-Nitro Consult Inc. on the property of the Dorchester Coal Company <br />located approximately 5 miles south of Florence, Colorado. <br />VME Nitro-Consult Inc. is being retained by~,GEC Minerals, 'Inc. who <br />anticipates blasting coal over-burden within 500 feat of the perimeter <br />line which separates GEC's pit from the Dorchester operations. <br />Tha following Dorchester property items were inspected to attest to <br />their existing structural condition: <br />1. Diesel Fuel Tank <br />2. Propane Tank <br />3. Sediment Water Pond <br />4. Coal Washing Plant <br />5. Concrete Water Tank <br />VME-Nitro Consult 'Field Report' sheets 1 thru s are attached. Photo- <br />graphs of the items were taken. <br />The VME-Nitro Consult representative was accompanied on the Dorchester <br />property by Mr. Bill Eckman of Dorchester and Mr. Uean MacKinnon of GEC <br />Minerals, Inc. <br />~VME's retainment by GEC Minerals includes a 6 instrument (seismic) <br />monitoring of a typical blast scheduled for January 28 or 29, 1981. <br />The six instruments will ba appropriately positioned to provide <br />ground particle vibration data at the subject specific property <br />structures. <br />The vibration data so obtained will be the basis for preparing <br />particle velocity attenuation curves to be used far predicting <br />
