This facility is next to the County's business pazk located on 11th Avenue and "O"
Street. The County has entered into an agreement with Heiner Construction Company to complete
some mining on one of their existing phases and then reclaim that phase. The excavation will be a
minimal disturbance to the operation.
The County will utilize this material as fill in the business pazk to accommodate a new prison
facility. The material would be carried by conveyor belt from the mining operation across the fence
to the new site will, then, be spread and compacted prior to constructing the facility. By utilizing
the conveyor belt for the short distance across the fence, this would minimize handling of the
material. This would not be in violation of the permit.
The County will appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
Sincerely,
~~
Don Carroll
Project Coordinator
DC/fc:min.dc
cc: Commissioner Webster
Heinger pit file
Geiser pit file
