You have requested a written confirmation of our phone
conversation regarding the above-referenced mine.
As we discussed, the stormwater regulations do not apply to mines unless runoff contacts overburden,
raw material, intermediate or finished product, or waste products, and leaves the site. You have stated
that all runoff from the mine site is contained on site, with no discharge off-site expected. Given this
situation, a stormwater permit is not required. Keep in mind that any change in this situation would
require application for a stormwater permit, at least 30 days prior to any discharge taking place.
[f you have any further questions, please give me a call at 303+692-3596.
Sincerely,
~o.~
Kathryn Dolan
Engineering Technician
Permits and Enforcement Section
WATER QUALITY CONTROL DIVISION
S III IIIIII'IIIIII III _~~l~l 1LJ~
sss
