... .. ,
-zz-
XIX. Bonding - Rule 2.05.4(2)(b) and Rule 3
Sunland Mining Corporation has agreed to post a performance bond in the
amount of $34,121.92. The Division has determined that the amount as
calculated in the application plus 10'~ administrative costs will be
sufficient to cover the cost of reclamation at the Apex No. 2 Mine.
Pursuant to Rules 2.07.6(2)(j) and 3.02.1(1), the performance bond in the
amount of Thirty Seven Thousand and Five Hundred Dollars ($37,500.00)
must be filed with the Division, payable to the State of Colorado and the
Federal government before a permit will be issued.
XX. Sealin of Drill Holes and Under round 0 enin s -
Rules 2.05.4 2 9 and 4.07
The appropriate information satisfying these requirements is provided on
pages 184, 190.2 and 190.3 of the application. The applicant has
committed to resealing the portal of the old Apex No. 1 Mine, as well as
the portal of the Apex No. 2 Mine.
XXI. Subsidence - Rules 2.05.6(6) and 4.20
Subsidence information is included in Section 2.05.6(6) on pages
194-211. The D.H. Emling Company, consulting mining and geological
engineering firm, provided a subsidence control plan for the Apex No. 2
Mine. A seasonally occupied ranch house structure was identified over
the potentially affected subsidence area. Fifty percent recovery room
and pillar method will be employed beneath the ranch house. The pillar
support will be provided by uniformly distributed pillars with minimum
dimensions of 20' by 30' and there will be no pillar extraction in this
area. It is estimated that a 50'~ barrier pillar will result in little or
no subsidence to the surface.
Sunland Mining Corporation has committed to the monitoring of the ranch
house and has also committed to the required monitoring and report
frequencies. If damage should occur to the structure, the permittee
would be required under the performance standards of Rule 4.20.3(2) to
" restore, rehabilitate, or remove and replace each damaged structure,
feature or value, promptly after damage is suffered..."
Based on the hydrologic investigation summarized earlier in this
document, it can be concluded that any subsidence above the planned mined
areas would have a negligible, if any, impact on the ground water in the
permit and adjacent area.
