Dudash, Joe
From: Dudash, Joe
Sent: Thursday, February 02, 2006 9:19 AM
To: Jim Kiger (E-mail)
Subject: Terror Creek Loadout Weed Management Plan
The Division is in the process of reviewing the Terror Creek Loadout permit application material for
the 2006 Midterm. The midterm review is due February 23, 2006. However, there is one question that
will be in the midterm that you may want to start working on now, if you haven't already started. The
_ issue of weed management plans initially came up in a letter from the Division to the operators, dated
December 1, 2005. Basically, the weed management plan at the loadout needs to be revised to
conform with new Rule 4.15.1(5). The midterm question follows:
Rule 4.15
As stated in a letter from the Division to the Terror Creek Company, dated December 1, 2005, there is a
new Rule 4.15.1(5) that requires that a weed management program be included in the permit application.
In that letter, the Division also stated that any revised or new weed management plan be submitted in a
minor revision by March 1, 2006. The Terror Creek Loadout permit application contains a weed
management plan on permit application pages 2.05-14R and 2.05-14Ra. However, this plan needs to be
revised to conform to the requirements of Rule 4.15.1(5).
Rule 4.15.1(5) requires, in part, Yhat there be a specific listing of the noxious weeds in question and the
procedures for managing each of the weed species. The Division requests that the Terror Creek
Company develop the revised weed management plan in consultation with the Delta County Noxious
Weed Program. Further details and a contact person for the Delta County program can be found at the
following website:
http://www.agstate.co.us/C SD/Weeds/mapping/counties/Delta.html
If you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks!
