Dudash <br />Enviromtental Protection Specialist JAN Q 9 yQpp <br />Division of Minerals and Geology <br />1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 ~lvlsion of Minerals and Geology <br />llenver, Colorado 8U2U3 <br />RE: Bowie Resources Ltd. <br />Bowie No. 1 Mine <br />Approval to Dispose ofNon-Coal Waste on Si[e <br />Dear Mr. Dudash; <br />As part of the ongoing reclamation of the Bowie No. 1 East Mine, Bowie <br />Resources Ltd. has verbally notified the Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG) that <br />Bowie prefers to bury some non-coal waste on site as opposed [o trucking [he material <br />offsite to a landfill. In an email from the DMG, the DMG requested that Bowie <br />Resources Ltd. receive permission from Delta County prior to disposing this non-coal <br />waste on site as required by Rule 4.11.4(2). <br />In complying with [his Rule, Bowie Resources Ltd. contacted Mr. Bruce Bertram, <br />Solid Waste Coordinator for Delta County, and requested he make a site visit of the <br />Bowie No. 1 East Mine and inspect the proposed burial locations and non-coal waste <br />material. Mr. Bertram did make a site visit of the Bowie No. 1 East Mine on December <br />14, and inspected the sites and non-coal waste material to be buried and had no concerns <br />with Bowie's plan. <br />Therefore iiowie Resources Ltd. plans io proceed Wilil uurying the non-coal wasie <br />material on site following the requirements found in Rules 4.11.4 and 4.11.4(2). <br />Sincerely; <br />Basil R.
