Dc T idoGI III '
MITBIMS & ASPHALT INC.
1910 Rand Avenue
Colorado Springs, CO 60906
Exhibit E-Reclamation Plan
1. land Use:The purpose of this reclamation plan is to return the property to rangeland.
Reclamation will be completed concurrently with the mining plan. Land will be reclaimed as
soon as it is no longer needed for plant sites, ponds, stockpiles or current mining activit
2. Reclamation Performance Standards:The mining and reclamation plan have been designed to
initiate reclamation of the land as soon as it is no longer needed and will continue through the
life of the mine Generally,an area that is sufficient to sustain 6 months of mining activities will
remain open at any time. Topsoil and overburden that has been stripped from current mining
areas will be placed on the areas to be reclaimed
Mine slopes will generally be excavated to a 1:1 slope Excess material will then be deposited at
the toe of the slope to obtain a 21 slope or better. The mute floor that is not required for
current muting will be reclaimed with available overburden and topsoil A bean Will be provided
at floor edges to prevent water runoff and erosion of reclaimed areas.
To the extent practical, the final reclamation will be coordinated with the most desirable season
for planting. In this area spring seeding from early March through the end of May has produced
the most desirable results. Seeding will be done as soon as practical with consideration being
given to soil conditions and weather patterns. Soil in the mind area will be scarified and
harrowed prior to seeding. Traffic will be diverted away from the area to be seeded.
Fertilization will be included in the seeding process. Application rates will be determined at the
time of seeding.
Seed mixture and application rates will be determined by the local soil conservation district
Seeding will be done by the use of a seed drill whenever possible. When drilling is not possible,
-seed will be hand broadcast at the rates determined by the soil conservation district _
3. This reclamation plan is a continual and ongoing part of the mine. Best management practices
will be used at all times to protect the safety, health, and environment of everyone involved at
the site. -
These items will be used in conjunction with the current mining and reclamation plans. We do
not foresee many changes from the current mining at this facility. We will always continue to use
the best mining practices that are available to us.
Phone 473-3100•Fax 473-3109
