--~ ~ ~~
~.
~,
Mine Foreman
Somerset Mining Co.
P.O. Box 535
Somerset, Co 81434
Dear Sir;
HOTCHKISS RANCHES IIYC.
Box 479 872-3492
Hotchkiss, Colorado 81419
7 October, 1994
ftEC=INFO %CT 0 ~ igo:~
It has come to my attention through a conversation with your
outside Foreman, Tom Anderson, that it is in the works to
abandon and reclaim the old Dower line access road from Bear
creek around the mountain to Hubbard creek.
As you may or may not be aware, our ranch has been grazing
with sheep, the area above the old fan to the west on mining
and BLM properties for years in the spring and a day or two
in the late fall. We depend on the old road, as steep as it
may be, as access to these grazing lands for our sheep. We
also use the road with equipment to maintain the ponds which
we are dependent on for livestock water.
A(/~
If possible, we would like to see this old access roadi.as a
usable road at least as far as the large flat on the first
bench before starting around toward Hubbard creek.
Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
~~S~incerely,
J25~A. Hotchkiss
