mining, exploratory drilling, and by coal bed methane drilling (Suspected fault zone in 28-10 at 627-660 feet
below ground).
Figure 2
9ASIN RESO~xcES, INC.
NEW ELR/GOLDEN EAGLE MINE
Las Animas County, Colorado
Figure 1
GENERALIZED STRATIGRAPNIC SECTION
Investigation
The first inspection of this area was conducted on October 9, 1996 following receipt of the initial citizen's
complaint filed by the Spanish PeakslPurgatoire Valley Soil Conservation District. (See DMG inspection report
dated 10/9/96) Initial sail examination found no immediate evidence of a toxic dumping or impact caused by the
mine. Field investigation of soils and vegetation along with a general determination of the extent of the
vegetation die-out was noted. DMG committed to continue to observe area for future changes.
Subsequent to that investigation, Basin Resources filed for bond release for exploration conducted under Notice
of Intent X199221300. During that bond release inspection, a similar die-out was observed at one of the
reclaimed and abandoned coal exploration drill sites. This site was on property owned by Mr. Floyd Chavez.
