provided that the maximum allowable injection pressure limitation, Part II, Section C, Condition 4 <br />of this Permit, is not exceeded. <br />erection Fluid Limitation. (Condition 6) <br />This application is for aClass INon-Hazazdous Underground Injection Control (iJIC) <br />Pemut for the Getty well to be used for the disposal of reject brine from the solution mining fluid <br />processed at the Parachute soda ash plant. No off-site (site meaning the Parachute soda ash <br />processing plant) waste or on-site solvents and off-specification chemicals will be accepted <br />for disposal. Injection of any hazardous waste as identified by EPA under 40 CFR 261.3 is <br />prohibited. <br />Annulaz Fluid (Condition 7) <br />Unless an alternative to a packer has been approved under 40 CFR § 146.12 (c), the <br />annulus between the 2-3/8 inch tubing and the long string (4-1/2 inch) casing shall be filled with <br />fresh water treated with a corrosion inhibitor, or other packer fluid as approved, in writing, by the <br />UIC Director and maintained under a minimum positive pressure of 50 pounds per squaze inch <br />gauge (psig). A diesel freeze blanket of approximately one barrel maybe placed on the backside <br />to prevent freezing and possible equipment failure. <br />PART II, Section D MONITORING, RECORDKEEPING AND <br />REPORTIl`dG OF RESULTS <br />Disposal Well Monitoring Program. (Condition 1) <br />EPA regulations (40 CFR Part 146.13) require continuous monitoring and recording of <br />injection pressure, flow rate, volume, and tubingJcasing annulus pressure. The permittee is also <br />required to analyze water quality of the injected fluids. Chemical analysis must include all of the <br />following parameters: <br />(a) cazbonate by colorimetry or other method to be determined; <br />(b) bicarbonate by colorimetry or other method to be determined; <br />(c) total dissolved solids (TDS); <br />(d) pH; <br />(e) specific conductivity; <br />(f) specific gravity; <br />(g) dissolved sodium; <br />Statement of Basis for EPA Permit No. CO 10932-04664 Page 13 of 18 <br />
