Application Infarmatioo
ESCOR7® XP is recommended for growth suppression and Seedhead inhibition
in well established fescue and bluegrass mrf at the use rate of ~4 to ~/z ounce per
acre.
Tank Mu Combination
ESCOR'I® XP may be tank mixed with "Embark" for improved performance in
the regulation of growth and Seedhead suppression. Tank mix V. to 4z ounce of
ESCOR'I® XP with 4s to t/. pint of "Embark".
Application Timing
Application may be made after at least 2 to 3 inches of new growth has emerged
until the appearance of the seed stalk.
IMPORTANT PRECAUTIONS-INDUSTRIAL TURF ONLY
• An application of ESCOR'I'® XP may cause tempoary diseoloation (chlorosis)
of [he grasses. Use the lower recommended rotes for minimum diseelamtion.
• With fescue and bluegmss, sequential applications made during [he same or
consecutive growth periods (i.e. spring and fall) may result in excessive injury
to mrf.
• Excessive injury may result when DuPonPra ESCOR"I® XP is applied to turf
that is under stress from draught, insects, disease, cold [empeamres (winter
injury) or poor fertility.
. ESCORTa' XP is not recommended for use on bahiagass.
NATIVE GRASSES
ESCOR'f® XP is recommended for weed control and suppression in the estab-
lishment and maintenance of native grasses. It may be used where blue grama,
blues ems (big, little, plains, sand, ww spar), bromegasses (meadow), buffalo-
gass, green sprnngletop, indiangass, kleingass, lovegrasses (atherstone, sand,
weeping, wilman), orchardgass, sideoats gams, swi[chgass {blackwell), wheaP
gass (bluebunch, in[ennediate, pubescent Siberian, slender, streamband, tall, thick-
spike, western), and mssian wildrye are established. It may also be applied over
these species in the seedling stage, except for orchardgass and mssian wildrye.
Applica[ioo Information
Apply ESCORT° XP at the ate of 4,0 ounce per acre for the control and suppres-
sion* ofbur buttercup (testicula[e), common purslane, common sunflower*, cudeaf
eveningprimrose*, flixweed*, lambsquarters• (common and slimleat), marestail*
pigweed (redroot and Nmble), snow speedwell, tansymustard• and tumble mustard
(Jim Hill mustard).
• Suppression is a visual reduction N weed competition (reduced population of vigor) es
compared to untreated areas. Degree of suppression will vary with the size of weed and
environmental conditions following treaunent.
Application 7imiog
For established gasses, apply when weeds are in the seedling stage.
For grasses in [he seedling stage, apply preplan[ or preemergence where the soil
(seed bed) has been cultivated.
BRUSH CONTROL
Application Information
ESCOR"I® XP is recommended for the control of undesiable brash growing in
noncrop areas. Applicationsmay be made by air, high volume ground application,
low volume ground application and ultra-low volume ground application. Except
as noted far mulfifloa rose, ESCORT° XP should be applied as a spray to [he
foliage.
The application volume required will vary with the height and densiry of the brash
and [he application equipment used. Generally, aerial applications will require
1 S [0 25 gallons of water per acre; high volume ground application will require
100 to 406 gallons ofwater per acre; tow volume ground application will require
20 [0 50 gallons of water per acre; and ultra-low volume ground application will
require 10 to 20 gallons of water per acre.
Regardless of [he application volume and equipmem used, thorough coverage of
[he foliage is necessary [o optimize results.
ESCOR'1® XP per 100 gallons of spray solution.
Application Timing
Make a foliar application of the recommended rate of ESCOR'I® XP during the
period from full leaf expansion in the spring until the development of full fall
coloration on deciduous species to be controlled. Coniferous species may be
treated at anytime during [he growing season.
Tank Mix Combinations-
"Accord"
After consulting the "Brash Species Controlled" table, tank mix the prescribed
ate of ESCOA7® XP with the rate of "Accord" indicated for the various appli-
cation methods on the "Accord" label. Refer to the "Accord" label for list of
species controlled.
"Arsenal" herbicide
Combine l to 2 ounces of ESCOR'fn XP with 1 to 4 pine of "Arsenal" her-
bicide per acre and apply as a broadcast spay. Aerial applications should use a
minimum of 15 gallons per acre spay volume. In addition to species listed above
controlled by ESCORT° XP, this combination controls black gum, hophombeam,
sassafras, sweetgum, Vaccinium species, dogwood, myrtle dahoon, hickories, and
persimmon.
spay. The tank mix controls cherry, elms, box elder, maples, hackberry, redbud,
ash, oaks (including shingle oak), black locus[ and sassafras.
• "Tordon" K is a restritted use pesticide.
Spotgun Basal SoB Treatment
For control of multifloa rose, prepare a spay suspension of ESCOR'1® XP by
mixing 1 ounce per gallon of water. Mix vigorously until the ESCORT° XP is
dispersed and agitate periodically white applying the spay suspension.
Apply the spay prepaation with an exact delivery handgun applicator. Apply
at the ate of 4 mt0ihters for each 2 feet of rose canopy diameter. Direct the
treatment to the sail within 2 feet of the stem union. When treating large plants
and more than one delivery is required, make applications on opposite sides of
the plant.
Applications should be made from early spring to summer.
IMPORTANT PRECAUTIONS-NON-CROP BRUSH ONLY
• When using tank mizmres of ESCORT° XP with companion herbicides, road
and fallow all use instmetions, application ores, wammgs and precamions
appearing on the labels. Follow the most restrictive label instmcdons for each
of the herbicides used.
SPRAY EQUIPMENT
Following an ESCORT° XP application, do no[ use fie sprayer or mixing equip-
ment for application to agriculmal crops, except that it may be used to treat
pasture, range and wheal. This is extremely important as low ores of ESCOR'Ta
XP can kill or severely injure moss agriculma] crops.
The selected spayer should be equipped with an agitation system to kee
ESCOR'I® XP suspended in the spay rank. Use a sufficient volume of water to
thoroughly cover the foliage of undesirable weeds, geneally 10 to 40 gallons per
acre. Select a spray volume and delivery system [hat will deliver a uniform spay
pattern. Be sure the sprayer is caltbated before use. Avoid overlapping and shut
