As discussed at our meeting on August 23, 2001, our analysis
of these wells indicates several that are developing at a slower rate than originally
projected. At the present production rate we anticipate a very low probability of meeting
2002 production goals. In anticipation of this start-up short fall, Amertican Soda is
requesting authorization to add as many as 8 additional operating wells to our O - 5 year
plan. These additional wells are expected to provide the production volume necessary to
meet production goals. Our plan, pending authorization, is to begin drilling and construction
on these new wells by November 1, 2001.
On August 9, 2001, American Soda subm'Itted a preliminary revision of our 1999 Mina
Plan to the White River Resource Area BLM Office in Meeker requesting their review and
approval of our proposed changes to increase the number of operating solution mining wells
to 34. A copy of this submittal, a copy of their approval and the revised map is enclosed.
As you can see in the Mine Plan revision, our goal is to increase the number of operating
wells within the O - 5 year mining panel on existing locations to minimize surface
disturbance. The new wells proposed to be constructed and placed in operation in 2001
and 2002 are listed by well number and legal description as follows:
Delivering a Crystal Clear Advantage
www.americansoda.com
