"1'he GMUGs prcfcn•ed <br />alternative would approve surface operations associated with accessing, drilling, constructing, <br />operating, and reclaiming lfi8 methane drainage wells on 1:i7 drilling locations; constntction, <br />operation and reclamatioir of one ventilation shall ;md escapeway shaft and construction, use, <br />and appropriate decommissioning of about 22.fi miles of new and existing roads. This approval <br />would contribute to having safe working conditions in the underground mine quid would facilitate <br />safe and efficient recovery of leased federal coal reserves. The Final Els is not a decision document, `the GMUG will issue decision <br />documents under sep.tratc cover alter the Em~ironmentai Protection Agency publishes of the <br />Notice of Availability (NOA) of the Final EIS in the Ferl~rul Ret{iever.
