1995 RECLAMATION SAMPLING

It should be noted if transect points fall along any of the
road parcels that a coin will be flipped to determine which side of
the road the transect will be located on, and flipped again to
determine orientation of the transect to the roadway. This method
may apply in other Blocks and will be utilized as needed.

These parcels were selected to comprise Mine 3 Block N for the
following reasons: ~
1) All parcels have the same land-use, pastureland and
post mine usage, grazing.
2) The parcels have been managed as a unit.
3) The parcels are within close proximity to each other.
4) The parcels have similar topography.
The number of transects per Block have been
determined from previous sampling experience. The baseline figure
of one transect per two acres will be used as a starting number.
The Block will have transect locations selected using a
numbered grid system. The numbered grid will be placed over the
map of the entire Block. Random number sets representing the x and
y coordinates will be used Co pin-point the starting location of
each transect. Another set of random numbers will be generated to
orient the direction of the transect. These numbers range from 0
to 360 degrees and determine compass direction.
