GENERAL INFORMATION
DuPontTM KRENITE~ S bmsh control agent is a water soluble liquid to be diNted
with water and applied as a foliar spray for control and/or suppression of many
woody species.
KRENITE®S is recommended for use on noncropland, including highway rights-
of-way, industrial sites, railroad rights-of--way, storage areas, utility and pipeline
rights-of-way.
It is permissible to apply to Floodplains where surface water is not present,
terestrial areas of deltas and low lying areas where water is drained but may be
isolated in packets due to uneven or unlevel conditions.
KRENITE®S is non-flammable and non-volatile.
ENV/RONMENTAL COND/T/ONS AND B/OLOG/CAL ACT/VITY
A KRENITE®S spray directed to only pan of susceptible bmsh species will
provide control of the portion sprayed, resulting in a Mmming effect. Treatment
with KRENITE®S genemlly does no[ immediately affect deciduous woody plants;
they retain normal foliage for the remainder of the growing season. 7rea[ed
susceptible plants do not produce foliage or grow the following spring. Coniferous
species treated with KRENITEo S genemlly display visible symptoms following
application.
Effectiveness may be reduced if, following treatment, rainfall occurs on the same
day.
RESISTANCE
When herbicides that affect the same biological sire of action are used repeatedly
over several years to convol the same weed species in the same field, naNmlly-
occurting resistant biotypes may survive a cortectly applied herbicide treatment,
propagate, and become dominant in [hat field. Adequate convol of these resistant
weed biotypes cannot be expected. ]f weed control is unsatisfactory, it may be
necessary to retreat the problem area using a product affecting a different site of
c[ion.
o better manage herbicide resistance through delaying the proliferation and
possible dominance of herbicide resistant weed biotypes, it may be necessary
to change cu1Nm1 pmctices within and between crop seasons such as using a
combination of tillage, retreatment, tank-mix partners and/or sequential herbicide
applications [ha[ have a different site of action. Weed escapes [hat are allowed
to go to seed will promote the spread of resistant biorypes. If applicable, see the
Weeds Controlled section of this Zabel For additional information on managing
herbicide resistant weed biotypes.
It is advisable to keep accurate records of pesticides applied to individual fields to
help obtain information on the spread and dispersal of resistant biotypes. Consult
your agriculNml dealer, consultant, applicator, and/or appropriate state agricu]-
Nml extension service representative for specific alternative culNml pmctices or
herbicide recommenda[ionsovailable in your area.
/NTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT
'Ibis product may be used as part of an In[egmted Pes[ Management (IPM)
program that can include biological, cu1NNl, and genetic pmctices aimed at
preventing economic pest damage. IPM principles and pmctices include field
scorning or other detection methods, correct target pest identification, population
monitoring, and treating when target pest populations reach locally determined
action thresholds. Consul[ your state cooperative extension service, professional
consultants or other qualified authorities to determine appropriate action reaunent
threshold levels for Heating specific pesUcrop systems in your area
