This inspection was
partially in response to information requests from OSM and USFWS, in order to
dissolve the Federal permit on this mine:
The powerline to the OC #2 Mine is a "dead-end" line (serving only OC #2)
installed by the Rural Electric Association. The line carries single phase
current of low voltage (220V): The attached schematic of the power poles was
drawn from my observations. Information regarding dimensions was provided by
REA through Mr. Bob Weaver (OC #2 operator who spoke with REA): I have also
included a copy of a mine map with the location of poles in the permit area:
The Division finds that OC #2 is in compliance with Rule 4.18.3 with regard to
design and construction of power lines to minimize electrocution hazards to
raptors.
Please forward this information to USFWS as necessary. If you have any
questions please contact me.
Since~r~ely~,
/~~Z'~R
Michael S.
