1) Flow measurements will be taken at surface water monitoring sites SW-I,
upstream from the mine on East Salt Creek, and SW-3, in Munger Creek
downstream from the mine site. The measurements will be taken twice a year if
water is available to sample. Measurements will be taken once during spring
snow melt and once during a storm event.
2) Water quality samples of East Salt Creek will be collected quarterly at sites SW-1,
S W-~l and SW-8. S W-8 is located between McClave and Munger Canyons on
East ;ialt Creek. S W-4 is located downstream of the confluence of Munger Creek
on East Salt Creek. Water quality samples will also be taken on Munger Creek
and its tributaries ashes SW-3, SW-6 and SW-7 twice a year; once during spring
snow melt and once during a storm event (spring or summer).
3) The water samples will be chemically analyzed for the pazameters specified
below:
pH
Specific Conductance
Temperature (field)
Total Suspended Solids
Total Dissolved Solids
Total Hazdness
Soditun Absorption
Ratio
Bicarbonate (HCO,)
Magnesium (Mg)
Sodium (Na)
Sulfate (SO,)
Aluminum (Al)
Arsenic (As)
Boron (B)
Cadmium (Cd)
Copper(Cu)
Iron (Fe)
Lead (Pb)
Manganese (Mn)
Mercury (Hg)
Molybdenum (Mo)
Selenium (Se)
Calcium (Ca)
Carbonate (C0,)
Chloride (Cl)
4) The results of all monitoring will be submitted to the regulatory authority
immF:diately following receipt of analytical results.
5) Due to the current temporary cessation of operations at the Munger Canyon Mine,
items 1, 2, and 3 listed above aze modified as follows: Water quality samples will
be taken quarterly from SW-3. Surface water samples must be analyzed for the
pazazneters listed below;
pH Bicarbonate (HCOS) Carbonate (CO,)
Specific Conductance Calcium (Ca) Sulfate (SO,)
Temperature (field) Magnesium (Mg) Iron (Fe)
Chloride (CI)
31
