02-04-1994 11~29AM FROP1 YENTER COMPRIJIES TO 7904850 P.02
~ 6,r,rie,r N 3.
WESTERN VIBRATION SPEC:IALISTS, INC.
P,O. Box 581 • Morrison, co 80465 • (303) 697-9646 • fax (303) 697-1905
I February 4, 1994
Mr. Don Weddell
Miners, Inc.
9137 East Mineral Circle
Englewood, Colo. 50112
Dear Don:
As per our conversation this mornin!; February 4, 1994 I am
sending some information on my background':.
I am a degreed Geologist (Colorado State University) and have
worked in geology and geophysics for sever,' years. For two and one
half years I worked at the U.S. Geological Survey, while there I
worked on a uranium drill rig, and developed structure contour and
isopach maps for Formations in the San Juan Basir+.. My next three
and a half years were spent doing seismii interpretation for oil
and gas for small to medium sized Oil and Cas companies from across
the country. The past two years have bee, with Western Vibration
Specialists doing vibration monitorir;g for pile driving,
construction, demolition and blasting.
Since starting work with Western 1%ibr~tion, I have worked with
several companies for vibration monitoring some examples would be:
Huntingdon/Chen Northern, SEMA Construction, Tarco, Inc.,
Controlled Demolition Incorporated, and Jefferson County Public
Works Department. For Huntingdon/Chen Northern we monitored the
vibrations from passing trains along the ~~anta Fa Railroad tracks
near Sedalia, Colorado Aprii 1993. Fo,r SEMA Construction we
monitored pile driving operations for a.i overpass for the new
Denver International Airport, January 19;3 and March 1993. For
Tarco, Inc., I monitored blast ~-ibrations'Por house foundations at
the willow Springs Housing Development, Jti;ne 1943. We have worked
with Controlled Demolition Incorporated on~such notable projects as
the demolition of the Montgomery Wards building February 1993, and
the Grain Elevator near the 20th Street Bridge, Fall of 1942. For
Jefferson County Public Works, I have moniiored for quarry blasting
at the Green Valley Quarry, and have monit;>red for road cut blasts
in Evergreen May 1992 and January 1994. i
We are currently working on getting a quarry permit
application for the proposed quarry on Sou h Table Mountain. To do
this we had to complete blast vibration r,onitoririg for vibration
attenuation characteristics and natural fl'equencies of the latite
rock formation. W'e also preformed bl~~.st vibration tests to
determine the rimrock natural frequency- ai:d stability.
