Gold Hill
Boulder, Colorado 80302
RE: Cache Mine (Permit M-83-141) Request for Notice of permit Changes
Dear Ms. Gent:
The Division has received your request in regard to the above-referenced
mine. Your request will be olacP in the Division's file far the mine but no
guarantee can be made that you will be provided with notices of all permit
changes. The Division simply does not have the resources to be able to insure
such individual notices are made.
The Division does maintain a complete file for the mine which includes all
proposed and approved permit changes. This is available ~n our office to the
Public during normal work day hours. The Statute and the Regulations under
which the Division functions also provide for public advertisement in a local
paper of significant proposed changes in a permit, e. g., amendments,
conversions, and for notices to landowners within 200 feet of the affected
area of the mine and for placing a copy of the propose' with the County Clerk
for public review and comment. Acknowledgement of lesser changes in the
permit i,e., technical revisions, transfers, would be included in the activity
reports attached to the monthly Reclamation Board agendas which are widely
available.
Admittedly, to make use of these sources of information reouires some effort
by an interested party. Unfortunately given the large number of mining
operations, i.e., 2000+, under the jurisdiction of the Division's Minerals
Program and the limited staff we have, there appears to be no more practical
way to provide the general public with the sort of information you request.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to call,
Sincerely,

James C. Stevens
Senior Reclamation Specialist
JCS/yjb
1984E
STA~ OF COLORADO
