Dept. of Natural Resource
In response to Mr. Zalkind's letters of August 3 and October
1, 1982, concerning Cotters SR-13A Mine (your file 77-311).
Upon receipt of the letter of August 3 requesting an annual
report and permit fees, I called Mr. Zalkind's office and talked
to M. A. Bennett explaining that this was a 110 permit under "Notice
of Temporary Cessation" and no annual report or fees were due. On
September 13, I discussed this same problem with you and at that
time you reiterated the policy we have been following since Mr.
Campbell's tenure in that office, "No annual report or fee required
on these mines."
_Following that conversation, on September 16, I mailed you a
list of Cotter's 110 permits that are under Temporary Cessation,
expecting a procedural change from Pained Land.
However, on October 12, I received another letter from Mr.
Zalkind requesting these annual fees and inferring legal action
if we don't submit.
Your timely correction of this communicational problem would
be appreciated.
Sincerely,
G!J .(.Q /
W.
